Ooodles of fun this week on the show. We have contributions from a few really great folks. Mark Tafoya of the ReMARKable Palate food podcast weighs in with another in the kitchen tip. C-Will, a cool New York City based musician dropped us a line about an upcoming show at Crash Mansion on February 22nd. Check the event calendar for more details.
Our featured content in this episode is an interview with Samantha Murphy. Samantha is an independent musician who recently stopped in New York and played a great set at Rockwood Music Hall where I had the please to catch here live. Samantha lived in the city a few years back and she was kind enough to chat about her recent visit and past experiences while here. We open the show with her song, Christoper Street which is about a very popular street in the West Village. This track evokes memories of a celebrity encounter I had on the corner of Christopher and Hudson Streets. And we close the show with a song by Samantha called Silent & Still. Both tracks are off of her very excellent album, Somewhere Between Starving and Stardom.

Hello,
I am a huge fan of your podcast and a regular attendant, and maybe one of the very few in my country, for I live in France. I have already visited the City a few years ago while interning in investment banking, but as of now, shortly after turning 27, I am about to emigrate to the USA ( I am about to obtain an immigration visa ) and I hope to settle down in New York and its environs. Through your podcast, I can grasp once again the energy and the splendor of the City, plan my future activities ( really enjoyed the show about Italian culture for I am a French national of Italian ascent ), and learn about the special spots I should not miss.
I have also been fascinated by your recent Flick pictures during the snowstorm; from your New Jersey shore you seem to have so nice a view of the Midtown skyline. I had initially planned of living in Hoboken, but could you provide me more info on where you live: average rent, commuting time and convenience to NY ?
Thanks and keep recording the NY Minute Podcast Show,
Seb
